To Die Is Gain

So what does it mean to die in this life if we are to be alive in Christ?
Like Joe Louis once said, "Everyone wants to go to Heaven but no-one wants to die."
Well even Jesus Himself said in Matt. 16:24-26
24 “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?"
Romans 6 says, 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
Its not easy! There is nothing about being a believer in Christ thats syrup. We are going AGAINST the world as a follower. However, there is also NOTHING more fulfilling either! So, to die to self is to rise up and overcome the world! Its awesome!
